Client Practitioner Agreement
1:1 EFT sessions and the scope of my practice:
EFT can support you with limiting beliefs, negative self-talk, day to day challenges, improving your relationship with yourself and others, everyday stress and challenging emotions. The sessions are designed to support you in finding your own toolkit to support self soothing, self regulation and grounding in addition to within the sessions.
Within the EFT session, you will be guided through EFT tapping, as well as strategising around your challenge to support you in feeling better about yourself day to day in between.
EFT sessions are not designed to replace conventional medical treatment, counselling, psychotherapy, psychology or advice from a GP or licensed medical professional.
Within the session, if I feel that you need medical or psychological support, I will signpost or refer you appropriately.
If receiving treatment for a medical condition from a GP, medical practitioner or hospital, it is recommended that you should consider it appropriate, to inform all
parties concerned that you are attending EFT sessions to ensure that they deem it safe for you to participate alongside your treatment plan.
What you can expect from me:
I am an EFT practitioner; here to guide you through the technique, treat you with care, non-judgement and respect throughout each session.
I will not advise you, or offer my opinion on anything you bring into our sessions. I am here to guide and support you.
You are assured that anything you discuss with me in a session will remain confidential, unless required by law, permission is given by yourself, or I am concerned for your safety, or the safety of another.
I will treat all clients in a way that is respectful of people’s differences in relation to disability, gender, age, culture, race, religion, and sexual orientation
Before our first session, I will collect relevant background information to aid me in planning your sessions and for reference as to your progress.
I hand write notes throughout each session to ensure that I can guide you through the technique using your words, and I then extract and transfer appropriate notes for my reference, on to a Google document, within a Google account that is protected two factor authentication, and using only your initials as reference.
Your commitment when agreeing to EFT sessions:
If you have any known reasons that you should not be taking part in EFT (such as advice from a medical professional), you agree that you take responsibility for letting me know and not going ahead.
You agree that you are responsible for yourself and any action or inaction you take during or after the session.
You agree to keep hydrated throughout and following the session.
The information you have given is correct and as far as you are aware, you can undertake EFT sessions without any adverse effects.
You understand that difficult emotions may arise during an EFT session.
You understand that if there is something you do not wish to describe or talk about, that you can inform me and we can use techniques to ensure that you don’t have to.
You agree that if you are unable to make a session, you will let me know so that we can rearrange.
You agree that you understand how EFT works, what the scope of practice is as outlined above, and that you will ask me to explain in more detail if anything is unclear
